#035 - FROZEN JELLY CAKE THEME

I'm very happy with my jelly cake that turned out to be good and accepted. Hahaha. First attempt not hoping for perfection but able to make sure the jelly can stand and not watery.
Actually the dress and the top baju not match you know, can you spot it? LoL
Here you go - Frozen theme birthday jelly cake.  This cake makes me a proud mama but still not perfect yet lar can make much better. But my girl is very happy about the outcome. The cost of making jelly cake is not expensive, but it is time consuming while waiting to pour layer by layer. On the other hand, still need to make sure the 3 portions of the agar agar mixture is still keep warm otherwise it will get harden easily. I also prepared ice cube and cold water to make sure each layer set easily before the next layer pour in.

Frozen Jelly Recipe:
1 1/2 packet of Mermaid Agar Agar powder
400gm castor sugar
2.5 liter of water
3-4 Screwpine (Pandan) leafs
1 can of longan
500ml Blue Pea color water (Bunga Telang)
200ml of coconut milk (Santan)
Another agak-agak recipe from me. I mix 3 layers of shades, White (Santan), Light Blue ( Santan + Bunga Telang), Blue (Bunga Telang). The color you adjust on your own preference. Actually I add more of the agar-agar powder as I want it to be firm and more solid to make the dress stand still. Luckily it never turns out to be watery too. Can be modify a little bit more to be perfection.
I was very clumsy at first place, don't know which one to start first. Whether to mix or not to mix. For me the most simple recipe can really cause a mess. Blame myself not well plan. Muahaha. I need to prepare 3 pots for the 3 different shades. Get the Anna - Frozen topper. My girl prefer Anna. Somehow the colors not really match the color printed on the topper. I should adjust the color to purple. The layering of the color is depends on our creativity. I add in the longan in between the blue layer too - hidden inside.
Before telling my girl I will be making this jelly cake, I try to find the plastic mold from our local bakery store here. Finally got a suitable one - size and height because I don't intend to make a big one or too small. 6' diameter with 9" height is just perfect. Overall, quite satisfying with the outcome. It took me about 4-5hrs from preparing the ingredients until I poured the last layer. Phew...finally done. Keep in the fridge overnight before unmold it and finish it with the topper, that's it.
