Porridge for Calvin

I can't remember since when i started to cook porridge for my Calvin boy. Anyway i'm enjoying it every weekend when he's with me. Wake up around 6.45am to 7.00am just to get everything done for the porridge of the day. Easy, yummy and its took an hour for the porridge to set. Most of the time, i will either mix or sprinkle some steam/fried fish together and even Marmite in the porridge for Calvin. Actually i like to cook if i really have that time. I cook whatever i grab straight from the fridge. Any vegetables like tomatoes, cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, french beans, carrots, potato and even sweet potatoes too. Here's are a few kinds of porridge i cook for Calvin.
Type 1: French Beans, Carrots & Potatoes
Simple and Tasty

Type 2: I have some Chinese herbs soup left (Yok Choy Tong Sam) mixed with wolf berries (Gei Chi), a few dried scallops and sprinkled some fish meat (chunk)

Type 3: Cauliflower, Pumpkins, Mushrooms and Choy Sum.

We can actually add anything for children, especially green vegetables. My fav was potatoes, carrots and tomatoes porridge, just the ABC soup. Children need to train and let them love vegetables from small, that is why Calvin porridge always looks so colourful and yummy. Nevertheless, i used pork spare ribs, chicken breast, prawn or fish as the stock basis. It will built the sweetness of the soup base before adding the rice and followed by other ingredients. Even if i'm bored with those so basic type, i will as well marinade those spare ribs or chicken breast with soy sauce, sesame oil and a few slices of young ginger to enhance the fragrance in it. Always choose the best for our children.
