CNY REUNION 2012
CNY Eve Afternoon
Every year, my mum will prepared lots of dishes for us. I told her this year try to make things simple and less dish cos she has to take care of Hebe. No matter how simple it is, she still prepared so many lovely dishes for our reunion lunch. Thanks mum and you are always the best.
She cooked Tom Yam fish, mixed vegetables, prawns and the only food she bought was the roasted pork. She made the chopped parsley sauce match perfectly with "Pak Cham Kai".
Overhere, we also have pig's trotter & chicken leg stew, fried homemade yam cake with leek, crunchy cucumber pickled, pig's maw & fish maw soup and last but not least yam & ginko pudding for dessert.
Hubby taking care of Hebe while I was helping my mom in the kitchen to set up the table. Doesn't she looks like her daddy?
CNY Eve Evening
In the evening, we had another reunion feast with my in laws back at home. My MIL also prepared quite a few dishes in Cantonese style: chicken, prawns, steam fish and vegetables. MIL prepared a treasure soup - Chicken soup with lots of M size scallop (forgot to take the photo). This year we are very pleased that FIL cooked us braised abalone with broccoli. After dinner, the kids were enjoying singing the My FM CNY song in the living room. Nothing is more important than a family gathering compare to what kind of food is served. After all CNY is all about family, reunion and happiness.

ReplyDeleteThere's nothing that can beat home cooked food. For me and my family during CNY, most of the time we eat out.
ReplyDeleteEating in or out, is the unity that brings a family together.
Kong Hei Fatt Choy!
No matter what home cooking always taste great than outside. Eating at home during CNY is the best thing to do.
