Small Celebration @ Nursery
I was busy with my month end closing but I did not forget to plan a small birthday celebration for Calvin and his friends before the school holiday break. It my first time and I don’t want Calvin to miss it. My superior always so understanding, he permitted me to go out for a while and he even told me not to waste my leave as he knew it I won’t be too long. Hehehehe…good isn’t it. Phew, rushing all the way to nursery from my office. It takes about 15 minutes for me to reach the nursery.
Calvin nursery is just cross a block from my house. On time for me to grab those goodie bags and Ultraman cake from house to the nursery at 10am (Their break started at 10am). Once I came down from my car with those surprises, the kids were eventually shouting from the window “Mak, Calvin!”, “Yeah”, “Wow” and etc… All of them are so happy. Teacher told them is a birthday celebration for Calvin. Teacher also advice them to have their food first before singing birthday song and the cutting cake session. Calvin and the rest line up to wash their hands at the basin before take their meal. They have fried noodle that Friday morning. Every Friday they will wear their sports wear instead of their uniform.

When everyone was gather around the table singing the birthday song to Calvin, suddenly my son cry! Alamak,*slap my forehead*. Oh my, shame shame! So, I try to cheer him up. Let him blow the candles and cut the cake. Everyone is excited and everyone is so happy for Calvin. Maybe he got upset from the crowded atmosphere.

After that, teacher asked everyone to line up to shake hand with Calvin. While Calvin will pass the goodie bags to each of his classmates and schoolmates! Yes, Calvin is the youngest of them all. The rest were in year 4, 5 & 6.
Then one of Calvin’s friend told me this “Calvin is my friend, today is Calvin birthday, I’m so happy” (with a proud face). Hey, kids nowadays really talk like adults! So, that Friday was the last day of school. This Nursery always informed the parents with a memo about the school break.

I think Calvin is experiencing "stage-fright". He's not used to the crowd and tends to get uncomfortable among them. Try bringing him out more and mix with other children. This should makes him to adapt well.

Thanks! Maybe you are right! We bring him everywhere now especially the playground. Let him play bravely with others. Luckily he still manage to have many friends at his nursery! Teacher praised him doing well at nursery. Spoken well in Chinese & B.M too.
